Oscar Lam is a versatile urban planner with experience in urban design. His cross-disciplinary understanding of planning policies and design principles contributes to vibrant solutions for complete communities, and to proposing strong relationships between built form and the public realm. Oscar is an OPPI Candidate member and holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University.
At Brook McIlroy, Oscar’s work includes writing for urban design briefs, planning rationales, avenue segment studies, opinion letters, and urban design guidelines; conducting feasibility analyses; developing master plans; and preparing materials for Design Review Panels, design workshops, and public consultations. He also assists in preparing urban design evidence, including witness statements, for applications before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Oscar is actively involved with the municipal planning process for Zoning By-law, Official Plan, and Site Plan Amendments.
Prior to Brook McIlroy, Oscar worked with Program Management Third Party at Metrolinx, where he supported the GO Expansion program. He worked with the New Stations Working Group, property acquisitions, GIS spatial analysis, and planning approvals.
