Katie Black is a landscape and urban designer who works at a range of scales to cultivate engaging, resilient, and equitable places. Her combined experience in urban design, landscape architecture, and planning lead to implementable products with context specific solutions, robust consultation, and design-led planning. Katie’s work experience has involved landscape master planning, institutional landscape architecture, waterfront development, growth studies, and land use planning and Traditional Knowledge Studies for First Nations communities.
Recently, Katie has worked as a project manager on the Carleton University Outdoor Space Master Plan and the Oshawa Harbour Lands Feasibility Study, as a landscape designer on the University of Manitoba Centre for Teaching and Learning, and the Centennial College Block A Design Competition. Katie is an Associate OALA member, currently working towards her professional accreditation as a landscape architect.
