Justin  Spec

Justin Spec is an Architect with Brook McIlroy. Justin has been involved in a variety of architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture projects with Brook McIlroy, contributing to design, project management, coordination, production, and construction administration. Prior to Brook McIlroy, Justin worked as both an Architectural and Urban Designer in Ottawa, developing a number of mixed-use, residential, commercial, and master planning projects.
Justin has been a key player in the design and construction of the Frost Entrance Addition and Geocentre Renovation and Addition, as well as the reprogramming and renovation of two Conservation Halton Iroquoian Longhouses. He developed a facilities assessment, feasibility study, and renewal strategy for the University of Saskatchewan’s Kenderdine Campus, and the Scanlon Creek Conservation Area Education & Training Facility Project Site Assessment for the Lake Scanlon Region Conservation Authority. Recently, Justin is managing the design and construction of a new Visitor Centre for the Cold Creek Conservation Area, as well as a private art gallery project in Guelph.
Justin holds a Master of Architecture from McGill University and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Carleton University. His experience in building information modeling, parametric design, and digital representation ensures each project’s efficient materialization and distinguished final product.
