Doug Belanger

With an education in both architecture and building science, Doug Belanger has a strong understanding of design principles as well as technical knowledge related to building components and systems. Doug is motivated to develop sustainable and efficient solutions for all architectural projects that he works on. With strong interests in building restoration, retrofit and renovation, Doug began his experience with Brook McIlroy on the Ear Falls Public School Renovation, and is looking forward to applying his building science knowledge to future projects.
Doug completed both a Bachelor of Architectural Science and a Master of Applied Science – Building Science degree at Ryerson University in Toronto. During his time at Ryerson, Doug was a key member of Dr. Umberto Berardi’s Research Group, exploring the effective performance of insulating materials in cold climates, including innovative and novel research on the topics of foam and aerogel insulation. This research has been presented internationally in multiple building science and physics conferences.
